HAIR

so if you have ever meet me in person, which I realise only a few of you have, but I have a LOT of hair. More like a tone! Its long, think, think, thick, resilient & curly/wavy. I don't have the time or the energy to spend 1+ hours blow drying it, and straiting it takes at least 45 min! That's when its dry. I need some advice from y'all - you all have perfect hair!

Those "I'm so cute" southern curls... how? I own 2 curling irons and they have all been used MAYBE 1x. and the cute little poof... ya... does not happen with my hair.

99.9% of the time, my hair is pulled back, away from my face, in a messy mess.

I need some help! How do I make my hair pretty? What products do you recommend? How did you learn how to "do' your hair?

From someone who has SUPER thick and curly hair I struggled also. First, a good hair cut is key!! And thinning... I ALWAYS get my hair thinned out. I recommend finding a good stylist and going to her every time. You will build a good relationship with her and she will know exactly what you do and don't like.
Also, use GOOD, salon quality shampoo. A lot of shampoos and conditioners can actually add extra weight to your hair and make it twice as long to dry. I LOVE and swear by Redkin 'Clear Moister' because I usually get real dry hair but Redkin also makes a great cleansing shampoo. Remember: Shampoo your scalp and condition your roots.
To curl my waves, I use Big Sexy Curls. It is the only aerosol mousse that I can find. Just a little goes a long way and I spray it on like a hair spray and than dry it with a diffuser.
For the BIG sexy curls, the secret is BIG rollers not curling iron. Haha!! Who would have known?
And for the poof, back teasing and bobby pins. For us girls with thick hair, you may have to pull the poof back in sections.
And if all else fails, go with a short and sexy hair cut. Girls with hair like us either have to spend HOURS getting the perfect hair or going slightly shorter.
Good luck and keep practicing!!
XOXO

I am obsessed with MoroccanOil. I use their shampoo, conditioner, oil, curly cream (yep, who knew I had curly hair!), hairspray and even their paddle brush.

Awesome products. The smell is amazing and it leaves your hair feeling like silk!

When you get it cut, have them do layers... That thins mine out and makes it more manageable. Also try a de-frizzing cream. I like Garnier Fructis - I prefer the creams over the serums. If you don't do anything to it, does it curl? If so try shampoos/conditioners/products for curls - maybe try a shampoo/conditioner for thick hair too.
